Any camping tips for me?

going on school camp next week.. this is a new school and their camps are very 'outdoorsy'! aka, no running water, toilets, electricity etc. we are pretty much going to be in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold and cooking for ourselves for a week. we have to take all our food and plan meals etc. too. i have never done anything like this before! so if anyone has any tips for me that would be great! thanks :)

Why does it feel like theres so much pressure on my head?

I feel like some one has their hands inside my head squeezing my brain the pain is bad I feel like A. I'm gonna vomit or B. Pass out.... I don't think its a migrain because I don't. Have sinsitivity to light or sound. What can I take to make the pain stop I can't have asprin because I have stomach ulsers. And regular tylonal isn't workin I drank a cup of coffee and notthings working not even to dull the pain a little. What should I do?

Clogged pores? Help!?

I have really clogged pores. Like when I squeeze my skin stuff comes out. It's mainly on my nose area. I wash my face twice a day and I don't have bad acne. My pores are just so clogged! I've used stuff to clear them and it works but the next day they are clogged up again. It doesn't have anything to do with my makeup I think cuz I've gone days without wearing any and I still get the same results. How can I make my pores stop clogging and why do they clog so much? Ps: I don't do any like sports activities or anything that would make me sweat a lot but I have oily skin

My golden retreiver is driving me nuts?

She is 8 months old. She is crate trained and pretty good about it. But it is the BARKING that I cannot control. She spends he day blocked off in the kitchen/dining area. She has toys, bowls, and a mat to lay on. When we are all in the living room( I have 2 toddlers) she whines and yelps the whole time! When I let her out on the tie out (getting a fence installed soon) she barks after about 2 minutes. And barks and barks til I let her in. I do not let her run free in my house and probably won't til the puppy stage is over. She's too wild with the kids and after they're in bed, she plays with my husband and me for a little while. I run with her a couple times a week. Please someone help or suggest something!

Would it effect when I'd be able to apply for college if I retook two classes senior year?

You should talk with your school counselor with this. It sounds like you could be successful, but it all depends on what colleges you're going to. Some have strict rules when it comes to what classes they expect their incoming students to have taken and passed. I even know some colleges that are ok with 3 yrs of science and math. It all depends. But I definitely encourage you to talk with the school counselor to have everything straight before you start applying to colleges.

Something weird happens to my best friend in class! Is she doing this on purpose?

Sometimes in class, my best friend looks kind of diagonal up with her eyes and very slightly jerks her head sideways like people do sometimes when they are falling asleep, but the rest of her body doesn't move. Sometimes she doesn't blink for a long time. I look at her and ask her questions and even call her name but she doesn't answer me. It can last for a couple seconds to about ten seconds. After, she blinks and looks back at me as if it was the first time I have been trying to get her attention. It's so weird! Is she doing that on purpose to be annoying? I even pinched her once, but nothing happened until, many seconds later, she blinked, looked at me, then yelped as if I had just pinched her a second ago.I told her about it and she thinks I am making fun of her and claims she never zones out or daydreams, and then she changes the topic. Does she know she is doing this? I told her to talk to someone or even our biology teacher but she just laughs it off and says it never happens. Is this dangerous? Why doesn't she admit to doing it? I think maybe this is a really bad thing but she is scared of the hospital and doctors so she would never go check it out. I feel bad though because I think she doesn't do as well on tests because she never pays attention. What if this happens to her underwater or during something dangerous? Can she get hurt if she "zones out" underwater? Help this makes me nervous! I think some other friends see it too, but not the teacher. She is sixteen, this started to happen maybe a couple months ago. It happens maybe four times a day or more, I'm only in two of her classes.

My puppy bit me. Should I worry?

I was playing with my puppy, moving her stuffed toy around as she would try to bite and grab hold of it. She accidentally bit my wrist, and she left a raised scratch(no skin came off) and a tiny sand-sized speck that was dark pink. A little dot of blood came out when I squeezed it. The speck is more like a bit of skin came off rather than a deep puncture. Should I worry, even though the speck is tiny? My puppy is an outdoorsy kind of girl, so who knows where her mouth has been. My puppy was hit by a truck! DO NOT suggest i put her down- i refuse?

Ok i have a pitbull puppy and yes i mean a puppy! They said she was like around 8 weeks or a little older and that she was big for her age. Well she is an inside dog. NOTE: she only goes out when i'm with her or if someone is watching her. Well people were goin in and out the door, my friend i live with was leaving the house, (wasn't aware that some idiot let her out the house) then i heard all kinds of yelping, barking, everything. I didnt know it was her or even thought it could be her cause she hardly ever goes outside and plus i had just seen her literally 3 mins. Previous to that! But i've been so wrapped up in her since it happened that i lost count of the day of the accident. Approx. Like 3-4 days ago. Im confused because she has lived this long, but im very happy & thankful. She doesn't cry or wine unless you leave her alone, she can't seem to get comfortable now. She was ran over on her back end. It looks like her tail bone is popped out of place. Her legs look and feel paralyzed, she drags herself by her two front legs and can hold herself completely up whole body and all. she does urinate on herself tho. (i bathe her right after). she does eat: so i feed her very often, i keep her hydrated, cushioned, right temperature, very rare amount of times that i leave her side. i have givin her everything i can except medical attention, we are able to take care of her money wise but everyone goes through a "being broke" stage and i am unfortunately in that stage at the worst time when my baby girl needs me most. I AM the ONLY one that is making an effort to take care of her and i feel like im not enough. She is still a happy dog, wags tail (her tail does move????) , still trys to play back when you grab her mouth...but just because her spirit is happy that doesn't her body is.. :'( this puppy is my world! And it's pitiful that someone of my age is handling this situation alone. I have called all vets within my area, how can i help her without money?

Does this sound like a cancerous tumor or lump?

well it was inside me so i dont think it was a lump. but, i noticed a mass with a white tip, the tip was the size of a pen head and the mass was the size of a pencil eraser, it was in my booty, im 14, and i squeezed the bump a bit and it popped and bled and the mass got smaller. does it sound like cancer? or just somthing else?

Hurts to go to the bathroom and pregnant?

This is pretty gross but i'm kinda worried. Well i have ulcerative colitis and i go to the bathroom everyday (number #2) but it hurts really bad like bad stomach cramping and sometimes my stomach muscles contract and like squeeze pretty much. Does this hurt the baby? I try my hardest not to have them crunch like that but sometimes it hurts so bad i have no choice. I'm just paranoid it could squeeze the baby out, i'm 14 weeks pregnant. Am I too tomboyish for a girl?

10 week old puppy -- Advice needed?

I was wondering if it's normal that my 10 week old puppy bites and puts his mouth on everything... I mean literally the only time he's not biting pants, shoes, hands, arms, toys, etc... Is when he's asleep. I have tried yelping, ignoring, bitter apple, spray water, but the only thing to calm him down is to hold him down for a minute or two... Then he'll walk away. Any advice?? Should I break up with my boyfriend? I know its long but i really need advice?

So first off he does not let me talk to guys at all except if im with him and its his friends. Once he found out i was befriending a boy at school he totally lost it and punched me in the arms, legs, back, and squeezed me really hard to which he broke my skin. For the following two weeks he questioned me about my new friendship and made me feel horrible about myself, calling me a whore,*****,liar, **** ect. and forbid me to ever speak to this kid again. When you allowed your future in-laws to take over paying for your wedding, you gave away control of what that wedding should be like. Your second problem is the fact that your fiance has no spine. The time for him to "leave talking to them about wedding details" to you is over. He needs to man up, talk to them and tell them that their money and input will no longer be required, that you and him will pay for your own wedding and go back to your original plans.

Dog limping (back leg)?

My dog is a male 8 year old maltese/pekingese cross. Since last night he has not put his back right leg on the ground when he walks and is limping pretty bad, but his leg doesn't hurt when i touch it (I touched his foot, knee and the rest of his leg and he didn't yelp). This is weird because he was fine in the morning and then the dog groomer picked him up and took him to get his hair cut. I noticed that he was limping after she dropped him off back at my house. I looked at his foot to see if anything was stuck inside it but there's nothing, and he doesn't seem like he's in pain because he hasn't whimpered or anything. I had him lie down in his bed all night but he is still limping. What do you think is wrong with his leg and should we take him to the vet (I'm 15 and I was home alone when I noticed so I couldn't tell my parents)?

Need advice on picking my major...?

I am currently an Anthropology/Archaeology major and I love all the history and the idea of finding artifacts that haven't seen the light of day in thousands of years. BUT. I am an outdoorsy girl; I love hiking, canyoneering, and stuff like that. When I was younger I always said I wanted to be a "Professional Adventurer". Recently I was messing around on google and came across actual degree programs to be an Outdoors Activity Instructor and it really rocked my world. I have already been accepted to a top school for Anthropology and classes start in less than 6 months but I am wondering if I should apply to the Outdoors school and give it a shot. I really love both of these things, I just don't know which one I want to spend my life doing. Any advice would be so helpful!!

Here is my scenario. I know this guy just as an acquaintance, he is my kitties veterinarian and I only see him every once and a while. Every time I see him he touches me. Weimaraner Puppy Having Crate Issues?

I have a 5mo old morkie and he had separation anxiety and its back and worse then before....?

ello , I have a 5 month old Yorkie/ Maltese puppy. I have had him for three months and i have worked very hard in training him.I work 4 days a week and gone 8 hrs a day.He started separation anxiety a few weeks after i brought him home.I read and talked to trainers and studied like a collage course. It disappeared and he was doing great..house trained,alone time and very happy and stopped yelping. He has a good life with us and plenty of play time and walks and exercise as well. He is socialized with my friends dogs and has his own play dates.recently he started running at my feet again non stop and tries to get on me nonstop. All his training has disappeared as well...sit ,come,down,fetch .he will not listen and work with him daily even treats. he is shaking at times and vomiting sometimes and stresses him self out. I ignore when come home for 15 mins and crate trained and very comfortable huge two room place where he is in day when im at work. he was doing so well we could leave him with run of most of house and now he started going potty everywhere. so confused and getting exhausted. we have done dog training and seemed like a waist.HELP? thanks :)

What's happening to me.?

I'm having mood changes mad happy mad the sad and then happy agian.......it literally is bad to when I'm mad or sad wanna rip someones head off then wanna slit open my wrist till I bless out and never wake up. And plus physical injuries j can't explain my knee is in really bad shape but they doctors say there is noohing wrong but if nothing was wrong I would yelp every time I stand up or limp after sitting longer than an hour....and I'd ask my family for help but they think I exaggerate everything And don't wanna listen... But I saw this thing on tv(bones) and this guy had been really upset and had hurt his arm and when he was helped out his arm was better and the shrink on the tv said that the way u feel inside when not capable of being released will express through UR body such as leg and knee(ECt) pain....is that what is going on with my knee...oh yah and whats with the mood swings...please I'm only 13i wanna live my normal life where I can run with fiends and be. Happy or at least have better reasons to be upset...please help

I have had my lip piercing for a little over a week. I got it done at a sanitary tattoo parlor. About 3 or 4 days ago it has had a red and white circle surrounding it. Yet, the circle is not puffy but if its squeezed then white puss comes out but it normally comes out about five hours after i put Neosporin on it. I have been putting Bactine on it until today, before I found out it was bad for piercings. But, on the inside, it is healing fine. There is an indention from where the inside had been pushed in from my teeth and puffiness of my lip after i got it pierced but the inside is fine. I just want to know if the outside is healing right.. Cause, im not sure.... thanks!

Why is this dog acting this way?

I bought my ex a chihuahua for her birthday but we ended up breaking up and I ended up keeping the dog. He is honestly so freaking stupid. He always whines and any time anyone pets him, he starts shaking and yelping, basically screaming his lungs out. He wont play with toys or act happy at all. He sheds like crazy but if I try to brush him or give him a bath, he starts screaming. My best friend, is always at my house. When she sleeps over, she will come into the bathroom when I am in the middle of taking a shower. You can try giving him a warm water bottle, or playing music. If worse comes to worse, give him half a children's benydrl. It won't hurt him, but wil make him settle down.

Going swimming with my nose piercing on?

I am going to go swimming at my friend's pool on 4th of July, well actually July 3rd since it is supposed to rain July 4th. Last year, I did swim with my nose ring, but I was just really nervous it would get pulled out or come out since I hold my nose while underwater. I had it pulled out a couple times, first time it came out and the piercer put it back in and the second time it didnt come all the way out so i just pushed it back in. What to wear to an outdoor winter wedding?

You should talk with your school counselor with this. It sounds like you could be successful, but it all depends on what colleges you're going to. Some have strict rules when it comes to what classes they expect their incoming students to have taken and passed. I even know some colleges that are ok with 3 yrs of science and math. It all depends. But I definitely encourage you to talk with the school counselor to have everything straight before you start applying to colleges.

I've has this strange bump in the middle of my chest about the size of a pea, and today there was a small scab on it, and picked it off since I thourght it would sort it out. 3 year anniversary ideas?

June 30th will be our 3 year dating anniversary. We're the couple that does alot together and we're very "outdoorsy". What do you think happened to my barn kittens?

Yesterday, my family and I were out of town for most of the day. Today when i went to do my chores, all of my barn kittens were gone! The adults are still there but each and every kitten was gone! One Kitten though has a bit of a sick looking Eye that I've been treating with medicine for that purpose (but the humane society probably doesn't know that) one person that knows about them is very against having so many cats (even though her family has near 20 dogs) but she found out about them a few weeks ago you'd think she wouldn'v told the humane society sooner. Another possibility is the Tom. The father of all 9 kittens visited yesterday And today I'm worried maybe he killed them but that doesn't make any sense maybe he might kill the Tom kittens but why would he kill the females? Plus he is such a sweetie! Last year when one of my adults was a kitten he would play with her like a mother cat plays with her kittens. She was his duaghter too. He is the only Tom around here.I know of. Another possibility is dogs. My neighbors moved away but yesterday for some odd reason they returned they have two vicious toy breed dogs who have attacked my dog in the past. But all the doors to the shed were closed so I don't think they could've gotten in. However the kittens do come outside but it seems unlikely that they could catch and kill all of.them. Why does my puppy yelp so much?

He is about 12 weeks and ever since we got him he has had a really bad yelping problem. It's like whenever we picked him up weird he would let out this terrible yelp, like he was in pain. We took him to the vet yesterday and got his DHPP, and got him deowrmed. But it seems like after that, the yelping problem has gotten worse. I can't pick him up at all now, or else he yelps and yelps and doesn't quit like he'll be loving on me but he'll yelp so loud and so much. Like he is in bad pain. The vet said he was a normal healthy puppy. Does anyone know the reason he might be so yelpy? He is 12 weeks and a Pomeranian by the way. I have had no problem with barking, he already knows 'enough' means no barking. but the yelping is terrible. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

OK! That took up a lot of space. Shiba Inu are great dogs generally, Especially in cold climates. They are extremely independent and very smart. They like hunting things though and you should spend quite a bit of time in the puppy stages making sure this doesn't go toward aggression. Super easy to house train. I grew up with Chihuahuas and they suck in house training. I like Jack Russell Dogs for small breeds. German Shepard for large breeds. Shiba Inu is a perfect medium breed for an apartment.

Because they are aggressive, they are also best in larger schools although 5 is the minimum for a school, and a 10 gallon isn't enough space. A 10 gallon would be sutiable for 6 cherry barbs though.

OOOOOOOOWWWWW really in pain HELP?!?

about 5 days ago i was in vacation in mexico. these cramps or charlie horses are describe as: her hind leg on her right side will curl in and her head will pull towards the hind leg on that side and she will continue going even if she is only on 3 legs. of course she is yelping too. If she is sitting her leg will start jumping too, she will wine and cam be triggered just by her scratching her ear. It can be trigger too if you are scrubbing her neck or hind quarters. My dog keep vomiting...?

Ok, I have a small 5 year old miniature dachshund/miniature poodle/min pin mix & for the last two days she's been excessively been throwing up her food & afterwards a yellow fluid. Balancing the Ph In a German Shepherd Dog's Ears. Are These Instructions From The Daily Puppy Sound?

Seems OK. We had a GSD that had some issues with his ears and we used a very similar procedure to clean them. Never new about the PH balancing though. We used an over the counter product called (I believe) Octa-calm (or similar, sorry I don't remember the exact name......we have another GSD now (the old original fella crossed the bridge seven years ago) whose ears are PERFECT (we're very happy).

Is there any way to stop jealously between my huskies?

I have 2 husky pups, male and female siblings, who are both 6 months old. They are being neutered and spayed this week so I am praying this behaviour calms down once this gets done, but anyway, the male is definitely the most dominant out of the two of them and is very possessive. They will allow me, my boyfriend and anyone else to take toys from them, go near their food and even put our hands on their food bowl without so much as a growl; they do everything we ask of them as we had them trained professionally so on the whole they are great dogs. However if the female so much as walks in the same direction as something that he thinks belongs to him, he will either growl at her or launch at her and they fight. We can buy them identical toys, but he isn't content with having just one, he wants her toy too. He thinks they are both his property and won't allow her to touch it without either a "back off" growl or starting a full blown fight with her. This doesn't happen on a weekly basis or anything, but has happened probably about 3 or 4 times since we got them. Yesterday, we gave them both a ball each to play with and he instantly attacked her when she picked her ball up, to the extent that she was yelping like crazy and we thought he was going to take her eye out because he was biting down on her face. No blood was drawn so I guess that's the only positive thing about it. As soon as we ordered him to stop, he did as he was told and stopped but I am getting sick of this. I have tried sitting between them when we give them toys and telling him to leave her, which he always does; however if we take our eyes off him for so much as a few seconds he will go and take whatever she has got. Usually she will give up without a fight but obviously some days she won't be so happy to give away what she has and that's when he gets mad. Is there anything I can do to stop this? I won't get rid of one of them, that is literally the LAST option before I have tried everything else I possibly can try, so please don't suggest this. If anyone can offer some suggestions that are actually helpful and not abusive, that would be great. I would also appreciate no answers that consist of something along the lines of me being incompetent as an owner because if that was the case, they wouldn't obey anything I said.

Hi all, my gf has a clotting condition in which she needs to take anticoagulant medication daily by injection, similar to a diabetic injecting insulin. The problem is she hates needles and sticking herself daily sucks, so most of the time I have to do it for her. But I am going to be leaving town for a couple of weeks on business and she is going to have to do the daily injections herself and she hates it. My question is is there a product out now that makes it easier to correctly inject yourself? I have seen some tube-like needle holders and protection jackets for diabetic syringes, but since the meds already come in a pre-loaded syringe with a square plastic plunger lock surrounding it to ensure it can only be used once, I don;t think that will work. I was hoping for something similar in function to a caulking gun for a syringe, where you insert the syringe as a cartridge, it lines up on your skin via a pre-shaped guard already built in and all you have to do is squeeze the handle to inject yourself. Does my older dog need a booster vaccination in 4 wks?

I took my Chihuahua who is 2 years old to the vet today for a parvo and distemper shot. I was told they only give a 6 way so I had it done. Then they told me I had to bring her back in 4 weeks for the booster. I thought only puppies needed a booster. She got very sore when we got home to the point for not being able to walk on her leg where they gave her the shot and yelped in pain if I touched the area. Now she seems to not be as sore but is throwing up. I think she will be ok but I don't want to put her through this again. Does she really need a booster??? Also this is a military vet clinic and I know they have stricter rules they go by.

Dog I'm dog-sitting is changing.. afraid of what the owners think?

He is very well trained when we first received him. He slept in his cage every night and he didn't make a sound. Now, he cries and yelps when in his cage when we put him in at night. Is it because our own dog gets to sleep on the bed with us so now he wants to do the same? Also, the dog is constantly looking for human food or my dog's wet foot; he doesn't eat his kibble now. Study abroad in spain or chile?

Next summer i will be leaving to study abroad for a year, i am 20 years old and a 2nd year in college. It is between spain and chile and i will have taken 6 years of spanish. In Chile, i feel like it is sink or swim, they teach in spanish and only speak spanish, and i think i would really learn the language fluently there. In Spain i would have to learn the vosotros form of spanish, and it seems like it is more international and has more english speakers.. however, im not really sure if that is the case. i really think that they do, and also that they understand age differences. my adult german shepherd won't put up with a lot of monkey business, but she let my brother's puppy get away with murder bc she seemed to know he was a baby and just acting a fool. many dogs also seem to understand the same thing about human children. when i was a toddler learning to walk, our 100lb irish setter would sometimes accidentally knock me over. when that happened she would stop and wait while i held onto her tail to pull myself up again! my parents were amazed. it happened over and over. aren't dogs amazing?
